Combustion Explosions (Sun. AM)

This 4-hour class is designed to provide a basic skillset into the understanding of fires involving flammable gases, vapors and dusts. The course includes: basic combustion; explosion chemistry and dynamics; mechanisms involved in diffuse phase explosions, and the methodology for conducting origin and cause investigations of such explosions. Special emphasis is placed on natural and liquefied propane (LP) gas explosions, including gas systems and appliances.
